There definetely is something psychological about it. Putting a creaking floorboard that is creaking due to a central heating system, down to the wandering ghost of your dead grandad, isn't healthy for a person in mourning.

Thanks for your $0.02. If you're interested in submitting a story about the paranormal, we're looking for submissions on our site. We sent out a broad "call for submissions" about a month ago and it seems like a number of the people who submitted stories have, as you put it, a "desperate need to be haunted." There does seem to be something psychological about it...

It is important to note that poltergeist phenomena is generally not related to ghosts. Rather, recalling the movie "Poltergeist" it is a psychic ordeal faced mostly by a pre-pubescent female, who is unknowingly releasing uncontrolled energy in bursts.
i read through the part about the celts and the druids and had to stop for the shear fact that those 2 groups were not the same, the druids were not celtic priests, they are two completely different groups of people, the druids were before the celts and the druids did do animal sacrifices as to where the celts did not, they lit the bonfires as a means to try and keep away evil spirits, they also left out offerings for their dead ancestors so they would be thankful and leave happily without causing any trouble, november 1st is all soul's day to them, a celebration of the dead, well their memory, it also marks the autumn solstice, which october 31st is the eve of, hence all hallows eve, samhein as they called it, but all in all the facts u posted aren't entirely correct since the druids and the celts were two seperate groups of people of different time periods, and their festivities u have wrong, just thought u should know

I love this article!
It reminds me of an investigation we did, according to Gareth the guy who had psychic ability, there was a spirit there who was playing cards around a poker table.
The owner of the location later clarified that yes, the room has been used to poker, dominos, and other gambling games, so I agree when you say that they try to live on their addiction - wether it be through actions now, or replaying actions from way back when.

I would like to call your attention to a similar experience you may, or may not know about. It is Jeffrey Keane's Story of Reincarnation from a Civil War Battlefield (about his experience of visiting this place in the present, and feeling overcome by what happened there). If you are interested, I have written a whole post about it on my blog, at:

http://margotmystic.wordpress.com/2007/08/22/jeffrey-keanes-story-of-reincarnation-from-an-american-civil-war-battlefield/

With what you are investigating, I think this would interest you.

Best regards,
Margot, the Marrakesh Mystic

People don't routinely record the road ahead of them, owing that there is always something more interesting or personally important to record at some other time. Most of the internal footage has no motivation to take place ( there is nothing going on to record that accounts for the camera already being in operation)so, for these people to be recording poltergheist activity, they had to be anticipating it. Considering it could happen anywhere at anytime, how did they know when and where? Also, if it is shocking to view, how much more so must it be when you are in the same room with it? Yet, the recording is calm and controlled and the camera moves on queue from one special effect to the next. (And we get a nice mix of those). The shot of the "ghost child" behind the door is like watching a magic act. We open the door, see something, close the door for some unknown reason and look away, then open it again, and "poof!" there's the ghost child. They just used a Ouija board, and they know that there will be phenomena that same night. (Rather prescient of them.) And out of the entire house, they know exactly where in the house to leave the camera to catch a door and table moving, when a spirit could do anything anyplace at anytime. And in all cases, doors, drawers, etc. are never fully in camera, so that moving them off camera can be accomplished easily enough. These are all attempts at producing entertaining and even amazing video effects. Not real evidence. It's out there, just not on this video. Let's keep looking - but not so much on YouTube. That site is for people with other motivations. Hopefully, your readers will forward some stills or footage that is not so dramatic, but entirely credible.

If you have been watching TAPS, one of the Los Angeles family members has made an electronic Ouja board. I wonder if these electronic devices will become as mass produced as the boards?

I have to agree with dontcrossthebeams about the mindset of the user. If people think that an item is a portal for communications with ghost, I think ghost will use that item.
